by dbdh

On Tuesday June the 7th, interested DBDH members participated in a workshop at Frederiksberg Forsyning, where they met with decision-makers from Juneau District Heating. The event was held by DBDH together with the Danish Embassy in Washington.

Juneau District Heating (Juneau is the capital of Alaska) is under establishment by Juneau Hydropower in close cooperation with the City and Borough of Juneau. They expect to begin construction work of the district heating plant in spring. The project is about utilising “free” surplus electricity from their new Hydropower plant to a huge heat pump which will producer heat for a new district heating plants.

The delegation was visiting partly to be technically inspired and partly to meet technology suppliers. A political delegation also comes along to see how district heating looks like and works. The group was in Danmark for three days, also visiting a number of Danish district heating plants.
