Uno Transport strengthened in East

Uno Transport knows Russia, the Ukraine and the Baltic countries better than most. The company is now adding more Eastern European countries to its coverage via the takeover of most of P. Poulsen Shipping & Forwarding A/S, which like Uno Transport specialises in transporting to and from the east.

“It’s a dream come true”. That’s how Uno Transport’s CEO Kim Uno Mogensen summarises the background to the takeover of P. Poulsen Shipping & Forwarding A/S. “It has been a longstanding goal of ours to have a wider presence in Eastern Europe. It’s an interesting market that works well for us, but it takes time to build the necessary expertise in this part of the world. That’s why we wanted to find a company with extensive experience in the East, and which covers other countries than those we do. We found this in P. Poulsen, who is a strong player in Eastern Europe and who we see enormous opportunities in expanding our business with,” continues Kim Uno Mogensen.

Looking forward to collaboration
CEO of P.Poulsen, Lars Poulsen, who will continue as co-owner of the company, looks forward to working with Uno Transport. “We have been looking for a business partner for a while now to help leverage our business in Eastern Europe where we have already built valuable local knowledge over many years. We have known Uno Transport for a long time and our communication with them has always been excellent. I am now looking forward to working purposefully together on becoming the market’s best provider when it comes to transport to and from Eastern Europe.”

Representation in important destinations counts
Uno Transport currently has its own offices in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Ukraine. With the take over of P.Poulsen two new local destinations will be added to the route: Bulgaria and Romania, where P. Poulsen has had offices for a number of years. “This means having a presence in those destinations we want to do business in,” says Kim Uno Mogensen, who continues, “Experience and good relations are alfa and omega in Eastern Europe, and we can now demonstrate this.”

No initial name change
P.Poulsen Shipping & Forwarding A/S will retain its name, management team and employees. This means that all P. Poulsen’s customers will be served as previously. “It was really important to us to continue using the same name and staff that our customers are used to,” says Lars Poulsen. “And this also applies to our many loyal shipping customers, who over theyears have used both companies’ experience and quotes for transport to and from Eastern Europe. Just like Uno Transport, we are a known and respected name at home and abroad, so it’s business as usual,” says Lars Poulsen.
