The second German bioenergy village with solar thermal energy is planned for 2015

Date: 23/10/2014

After Büsingen, Kreenheinstetten will be the next bioenergy village with a solar district heating net.

This village of 623 inhabitants aims at covering its 5 000 MWh/a heat demand with 100% renewable energy supply. The renewable heat should be produced thanks to a combination of a biomass boiler using local biomass and a solar heating plant and be distributed thanks to a 7 km net. Construction should start in early 2015 in order to start delivering heat in autumn 2015.
