There is money to be saved and it will be good for the climate if companies utilize waste heat from the production. Much of the surplus heat can be used to reduce the company´s own heat, while the rest is supplied to the district heating network, where it can cover about 70,000 single-family houses´ district heating need, according to a report by consulting firm Viegand Maagøe made for the DEA.
“Companies still have plenty of opportunities to make energy efficient solutions that benefit the climate, the environment and improve their economy. It is an example of an ambitious climate policy going hand in hand with a sound industrial policy,” says Climate, Energy and Building Minister Martin Lidegaard.
