The construction of business park Tietgenbyen’s heating center goes perfectly according to the plan. This is the happy message from Fjernvarme Fyn five months after the first sod was cut. As planned, approximately 6,900 Odense households can therefore look forward to receiving green warmth from the plant by the beginning of 2020.
The heating center has the task of transforming surplus heat from Facebook’s new data center in Odense into district heating.
The planned construction means that the process equipment can be installed already from October 2018. First on the list is the powerful 60-10 KV transformer as well as pipes and valves. Then heat pumps and electrical installations will follow. Among the cornerstones are also nine large heat pumps. The first pump is currently being tested thoroughly at the factory. By the end of the third quarter of 2019, all nine heat pumps are expected to be installed. After then, water will be filled to the plant prior to thorough start-up and testing for the rest of the year.
The plant will be put into commercial operation around the turn of the year 2019/20.
