Svendborg Combined Heat and waste incineration plant has been certified according to the British LEC rules. Thereby the power from the utility is excepted green taxation in the UK.
Svendborg Combined Heat and waste incineration plant burns up to six tonnes of waste per hour. For us it simply means that our production of heat and power becomes more profitable, which ultimately benefits our consumers in Svendborg, says Niels Christian Hansen, Operations Manager at Svendborg CHP.
When it is possible for us to export our green power to the UK, it is in fact a result of the current that flows across borders according to supply and demand. We are part of a common European energy market, and presently, the demand for green power is big in the UK.
