Göteborg Energy will heat vessel from Stena Line on the route between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg with district heating.
Stena Line and Göteborg Energi have signed the groundbreaking collaboration, whether for the first time to heat a ship on the move, with district heating.
“It is the first time that district heating is connecte to a vessel which is in operation and leave the country on a regular basis, says Johan Henrikson, Key Account Manager in Gothenburg Energy.
The collaboration will make the ferry Stena Line Danica much more environmentally friendly. Calculations from Göteborg Energi show that CO2 emissions will be reduced by 75 percent.
Stena Line has invested one million Swedish kronor in the project and granted subsidies from the EU.
