Sino-Denmark Seminar on Sustainable Urbanisation

On 27th February a Sino-Denmark Seminar on Sustainable Urbanisation was held in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs with participation of many DBDH member companies. 




The World Bank project of China Heat Reform and Building Energy Efficiency was initiated in September 2005. Under this project, the Chinese government issued a series of policies, standards and specifications related to heating reforms and energy efficiency in the building sector,  promoting heat metering and higher standards of energy efficient buildings; as well as pushing forward the implementation of heat reforms and building energy efficiency in the cities of Northern China.

Supported by the World Bank project, the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural
Development (MoHURD)  a delegation visited Denmark  and took part in the seminar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation was headed by MoHURD and consisted of high-level officials from local branches of MoHURD responsible for heating supply, building energy efficiency.  The purpose of the visit was to learn about Danish experience in district heating, sustainable urban planning and building energy efficiency, etc.


From interesting perspectives of urban planning touched upon from architechts with examples from Denmark, the linking naturally went to district heating and cooling as the flexible and environmentally friendly solution for cities in the future. Presentations were made by DBDH companies including VEKS, Danfoss, Kamstrup, Grundfos and Logstor.
