Refrigerated display counters to deliver district heating in Frederiksberg

Frederiksberg will investigate whether excess heat from the cooling counters in supermarkets can be used in district heating system. 

“So far it has not been economically and technically interesting, but now that the heat supply under pressure, we need more heat sources. With the limited space in Copenhagen we can not install solar up, as many plants in the province do – with plenty of space and cheap land. Therefore, we wil investigated whether we locally can use the heat generated by the large cold counters in the many shops in the city – as we all know it home from the refrigerator that emits heat from the back”, says Nils-Ole Heggland, Frederiksberg District Heating.
