Industry statistics: Record high exports of district heating technology
Exports of district heating technology and knowledge reached a record high level in 2019. Thus, district heating can substantially contribute to pushing Denmark into a green restart on top of the corona crisis.
Record high sales of Danish district heating technologies and services of 2,8 billion € and hereof 1 billion € sold to markets outside of Denmark. The main export markets of DK technology and service are in North & Western part of Europe with 535 million €. Looking at the top-5 receivers of Danish district heating technologies and service we see Germany, Sweden, China, The United States and Norway.
A remarkable result in Denmark is that more than 1.750.000 customers, equating to 64% and 3.6 million people, receive district heating in Denmark. This is an increase of 20.000 new connections in 2019. The share of renewable energy keeps increasing and has now reached 64%. Also important is that the average price of district heating for a standard house of 130 sqm with a usage of 18,1 MWh decreased to €1.720.
