Ramboll participates in UN climate summit

Ramboll Group CEO Jens-Peter Saul is participating in the UN Private Sector Forum as part of the UN Climate Summit at the UN Headquarters in New York City.

The Summit has been convened by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who challenged Heads of State and business leaders from around the world to come together to put forward commitments and innovative solutions to climate change.

More than 120 heads of state and government as well as global climate agenda setters are attending the Climate Summit, making it the largest gathering in history to tackle climate change.

Since 2008, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has convened the UN Private Sector Forum during the opening session of the General Assembly in order to convey the voice of the private sector to inter-governmental debates on key topics. This year, for the first time, the UN Private Sector Forum will take place as a high level luncheon, and is an integral part of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Summit.

Jens-Peter Saul will take part in a round table discussion on how to significantly advance corporate action on climate change and help limit global temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius.

The round table and private sector forum is co-chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim. Ms. Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will facilitate discussions as the Master of Ceremonies.
