New heat storage pit must be re- and discharged 25 times annually

Date: 03/05/2019

VEKS and Høje Taastrup Fjernvarme will establish a heat storage pit of 70,000 cubic meters.

The parties state that it is the first time that heat storage pit is used in one of the very large district heating systems in Denmark and that it is a development project.

The storage must be re- and discharged approximately 25-30 times a year – unlike the already existing Danish seasonal and 24-hour storage. The storage will be charged from the heat of the transmission network and deliver the heat (discharge) to the local district heating network in Høje Taastrup.
