New district heating line from Lunderskov to Vamdrup

Date: 17/11/2020

The first three sods were cut today on the new district heating line, which will supply Vamdrup with district heating from the TVIS system. The three who contributed their manpower to the 8-kilometer stretch were Kolding's mayor, Jørn Pedersen, Vamdrup Fjernvarme's chairman of the board, Niels Thomsen, and TVIS ’chairman of the board, Lars Schmidt.

-It is an important step towards the phasing out of fossil fuels in our energy supply in Kolding, and I am of course grateful to the citizens of Lunderskov that TVIS must fill a bit on the road to Vamdrup, but it is in the service of a really good and necessary cause, says Jørn Pedersen, mayor of Kolding Municipality

When the project is completed and Vamdrup Fjernvarme receives TVIS heat for the heating season in 2021-2022, it will be with a significantly reduced CO2 emission of 93%. CO2 emissions fall by 78,000 tonnes over a 20-year period, or about 3,900 tonnes per year, according to calculations by COWI.

TVIS invests approx. 48 mio. DKK in the establishment of line, pumping station and exchangers. The pipeline work alone secures jobs during the winter period, which typically do not have too much construction work. Nevertheless, the project employs approximately 27 men at Isoplus, Arkil, Cowi and TVIS for one year. In addition, blacksmiths, surveyors and transporters at partners.
