The 70,000 m3 large seasonal heat storage, which VEKS and Høje Taastrup Fjernvarme are building, has now reached such a point that the water filling has started. 25 m 3 of water will be filled per hour. Due to its size, it will take four to five months before it is filled up. In practical terms, the water flows into the seasonal heat storages’ lined pool – and stored under a protective insulated material.
The heat storage will be completed in 2021.
It will benefit half a million district heating customers in the metropolitan area – and at the same time annually protect the environment from up to 15,000 tonnes of CO 2 .
