Grontmij upgrades on energy

Date: 02/02/2015

Grontmij is going to focus on the Danish utilities and their owners. A new management is in place, drawing lines for a new energy department.

Grontmij’s energy department has lots to do, including large projects – such as large district heating projects for VEKS and Aarhus AffaldVarme – customers among the largest and most ambitious in the market.

“Efficient energy markets, falling energy prices, a political desire for a broad energy mix and increasing use of benchmarking is daily life for our customers. We have in recent years been very successful in putting our international colleagues from especially Sweden and England in the game to our customers and with the new energy department, we follow it through to completion”, says Mads Møller, Director of Water & Energy, and continues: “Our profile has become sharper; we have strengthened the team responsible for strategic advice and focused on the rest of the department regarding planning, production and distribution.

Henrik Martens has been appointed new head of Grontmij’s energy department. Henrik has in his earlier career been very active in the establishment of Copenhagen Energy/HOFOR and DONG Energy.

At the same time René Salomon has been appointed Project Director for the largest projects, while the network has been strengthened with the appointment of Jens Lunding, who has been head of Gladsaxe District Heating for the past four years and has previously been project manager in energy and water in Hillerød municipality.

René Salomon and Jens Lunding are, along with Henrik Martens, part of the overall management of the department.
