Gentofte Municipality has owned Gentofte District Heating Company since the 1980s.
District heating was driven by NESA until 2006, after which Gentofte Municipality maintained the employees involved and took over the operation of the network.
The development phase, which started in 2010, is an important piece in Gentofte Municipality’s ambitious climate plan and the department has been constantly growing since the acquisition. Politically, the objective is that the whole community can be supplied with district heating before natural gas is phased out in 2030.
Gentofte District Heating Company is located at Gentofte City Hall, and counts about 20 employees.
