First Italian solar district heating plant on its way

Date: 10/10/2014

The district heating utility ‘Varese Risorse’, located 60 km from Milan is planning to build a solar thermal plant of about 1 000 m2.

The project had a positive feedback from landscape examination and has been approved by the planning commission. The decision of the city council is now being awaited. This project would be the first of its kind carried out in southern Europe and would allow gas savings and lower CO2 emissions for the district heating net of Varese Risorse. The plant should be built in summer 2015.
