We are proud to be part of the Royal Visit to Poland, which gathered 40 companies focused on energy efficiency or climate-friendly agricultural solutions.
HM King Frederik X headed the visit to Warsaw on his first official visit abroad. DBDH and MPEC Ostroda, on this occasion, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will assist the utility in their green transition of the district heating systems. From being 80% dependent on coal from Kazakhstan, the utility aims to transform to biomass and gas and reduce dependency on coal to 20% in only two years! We are excited to cooperate closely to reach this ambitious goal.
The first day also comprised round table discussions focusing on two questions: What is the most significant untapped potential for energy efficiency in district energy, and how can Danish-Polish collaboration realize the potential?
The takeaway from the discussions points to the fact that Poland already has a widespread district heating network but lacks strategic heat planning. Energy efficiency is key, as the cheapest energy is the energy saved. Poland and Denmark already cooperate strongly with many cross-border visits and workshops in both countries.
A fantastic first day that concluded with a grande dinner at the Royal Castle hosted by the Danish Ambassador Ole Toft.
