After event summary

From the 12th-14th May, DBDH participated in a business delegation trip to Poland, Warsaw and Szczecin, headed by the Danish Crown prince couple. Besides the DBDH-members and other representatives from the Danish energy industry, the Danish Minister of Environment Kirsten Brosbøl, the Polish prime minister, Piechocinski, and several other Polish VIPs also participated in the debate. The theme was“Smart and energy efficient solutions”. The purpose of the trip was to meet the Polish energy industry and decisions makers. This was a unique opportunity for Danish companies to enhance their market potential and profile themselves towards both existing and future partners in Poland.

The second part of the debate was about “smart energy management cities and citizens” the debate was led by a panel consisting of: DBDH Chairman Lars Gullev, the Mayor of Copenhagen, President of Warsaw, President of URE, the Polish minister of Infrastructure and the minister of Economy. Lars Gullev gave an introductory speech on: “The Danish Approach – from smart grids to smart cities.” Lars Gullev stressed the need to think in “smart cities” instead of “smart grid”. In order to meet the growing energy demand of the rising urbanization, we need integration between the power grid and the DHC grid to make it possible to utilize low-grade energy resources and renewable energy in large scale. Later the same night, Lars Gullev also participated in the VIP evening reception.

The speech in its full length can be found here:
