North America Universities visit 11 – 13 October
11. October 2017 - 13. October 2017
North America Universities visit
In May this year, a group of North American universities visited Denmark – it was a very successful tour. An even larger group would now like to visit Denmark on a 3 day district heating learning trip. This time only DBDH members are invited to participate.
As last time we cooperate with the District Energy Alliance and the Danish embassies in Washington and Toronto. We expect participation of 10 -15 universities in the visit to Denmark October 11th – 13th. We have invited universities who are close to or have decided to convert their steam systems to hot water or who are about to install district heating. We expect 1-3 participants from each university. By participating you will get direct connections to people at the universities who are responsible for their DH investments. These potential customers are the direct access to open up for Danish DH export opportunities to the US.
We have invited many universities, e.g. Dartmouth, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Oberlin College, Tufts University of New Hampshire, University of Michigan, University of Connecticut, Penn State, Rochester, Virginia University, Sheridan College and University of Toronto. A bunch has already signed in – University of Virginia, Western, University of British Columbia and University of Toronto.
We offer an opportunity to influence the program by suggesting places to visit, things to experience, content etc. Please note that this time we will visit Jutland. The guests are mainly senior engineers, so the focus will be on demonstrating technologies and visit plants and systems. The program will be set the next few days – we simply want you to get a chance to suggest content.
The tour will focus on:
- Optimisation of system (e.g. conversion from steam, low temperature, integration, storage, cooling)
- Renewables (e.g. bio mass, solar, heat pumps, geothermal, ATES)
- Practical examples (e.g. pipes being welded, meters installed, visits to plants, visit to campuses)
Besides the visits we will also host a “Business Exchange Seminar” where the universities will present what they work with right now and Danish companies will be invited to showcase their newest innovations. This will also be a great opportunity to network with the delegation.
The are several ways to participate:
- Participation in the “Business Exchange Seminar” DKK 9,000
- Participate as a “Co-host” DKK 6,000
- Participate in the dinner (per person) DKK 1,000
You can choose a la carte – or you simply go for the full feast: Exchange seminar, co-host incl. presentation at a site visit and one person for dinner: DKK 13,000.
