Hotel Vejlefjord on 10 June
The theme of the meeting was the new opportunities for district heating in the USA and UK, and a status of district cooling in Denmark.
New winds in the US - what does this mean for the district heating sector?
Jeppe Fredslund - Consul General and Team Leader Greenbuild & District Energy, North America Consulate General of Denmark (Toronto), Rob Thornton - IDEA, and Kathrine Mønsted - Affald Varme Aarhus, gave a very inspiring presentation about the district heating cooperation across the Atlantic.
From England to Scotland - a status
Ken Hunnisett and James Higgins - Triplepoint, on a video link, told us about the mentoring project between Gateshead and Gentofte from Gateshead Council and Gentofte District Heating. And then an excellent talk about the first Scottish District Heating Act.
Three Danish district cooling projects and a debate on the topic
Astrid Birnbaum - Director of Høje Taastrup Fjernvarme, was leading a very vibrant debate flanked by Hillerød, Aarhus and Taarnby.
It was a vivacious debate with many opinions 🙂
