Joint export promotion visit to Southeast England

27. April 2022 - 28. April 2022

flags denmark united kingdom countries handshake cooperation partnership

The Southeast is the most populous region in England, with over eight and a half million inhabitants. In most of the region's major cities, heat network developments are going on or in planning. Projects at all stages are represented with Southampton Heat Network being in operation since 1986 to Crawley Borough Council, who in 2022 will tender for a feasibility study for a new phase for their network.

The increased heat network activity in the Southeast of England follows the general trend in the UK. In 2021 heat networks provide about 3% of the overall UK heat demand across the domestic, public, industrial and commercial sectors, but a much higher share can be achieved.
The government's research suggests that heat networks could cost-effectively meet 14-20% of the UK heat demand by 2030 and 43% by 2050 under the current support schemes.
We are looking at a growth market, and all have high expectations for future opportunities, as was also shown in the latest export statistics from DBDH et. al.

DBDH has long-term DH relations in the UK with the Trade Council in London. Together we have planned an export promotion tour to Southeast England with a base in Brighton. The program has been developed with local partners such as city councils, universities, and district heating operators. You are invited to present innovative and new solutions during the seminar.
