EUFORES 16th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, 7-8 Oct, Danish Parliament, Copenhagen
EUFORES, the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources, is the European parliamentary network for renewable energy and energy efficiency with members from all major political groups in the European Parliament as well as in the EU 28 national Parliaments. Its Board of Presidents consists of Members of the European Parliament MEP Claude Turmes, MEP Theresa Griffin and MEP Jeppe Kofod. The mission of EUFORES is to organize events and conferences to offer Parliamentarians and other key-players the opportunity to exchange their views for better energy efficiency and renewable policies.
On the 7th and 8th of October 2016, EUFORES will be holding its annual Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in the Danish Parliament in Copenhagen, in cooperation with MP Martin Lidegaard, Member of the Danish Parliament, and MEP Jeppe Kofod, Danish Member of the European Parliament.
The annual Inter-Parliamentary Meeting is EUFORES’ largest event, where 100 -120 members of the Danish Parliament, the European Parliament and other national Parliaments from across the EU will gather together with representatives of national governments, the European Commission, industry and other experts to discuss the EU energy union, related security issues, the reviews of energy efficiency related directives and the new renewables directive etc. Vice-President for Energy Union Sefcovic will also attend together with high-level officials from the European Commission and former Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard. Several Ministers/State Secretaries, including Danish Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Christian Lilleholt, are also expected to attend this inter-parliamentary conference. MEP Morten Helveg Petersen, Danish Member of the European Parliament, will take part too.
The conference offers excellent networking opportunities throughout the meeting and workshops, as well as during a welcome reception on the night before the conference starts, a gala dinner held on the first conference day and a site-visit on the second conference day. Please note that the Inter-Parliamentary Meeting is a closed conference only upon invitation so that its high-level parliamentary spirit can be kept while experts from the industry, NGO or scientific institutes are allowed to participate only as speakers or sponsors.
At the current state EUFORES is looking for sponsors who would like to financially support this inter-parliamentary conference. Attached you can find the agenda and sponsorship opportunities of the conference or you can always find updated information online on the conference website.
