In cooperation with DEP (Danish Energy Partnership), we invite you to join a Sector Visit to Scotland. The visit will take place the 6th og May to the 9th of May 2014.
Presently Scotland is endeavoring being the new center of growth for sustainable energy in Europe. The Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond, has initiated very ambitious and visionary goals for the sector, aiming for a major increase of power generation based on sustainable energy (wind, wave, biomass, etc.). In order to fulfill these objectives, the government have intentions for a massive expansion of the district heating sector, whereas the focus for the visit will be to meet the political decision makers and potential business partners. The objective is to promote Danish DH-technology and know-how with regard to the establishment of new CHP-plants, utilities, sub stations and DH-infrastructures in the Scottish communities.
The agenda for the visit is not fully fixed yet, however the draft agenda comprise:
6th of May 2014:
Individual travelling to Edinburgh. Several one-stop flight options from Denmark apply.
7th of May 2014:
– Conference/seminar day
– Presentations from the Danish delegation
– Presentation from Scottish district heating stakeholders
– B2B-, networking, and pre-scheduled matchmaking meetings
– Dinner with invited key persons (optional)
8th and 9th of May 2014
– Round table meeting with Glasgow City Council
– Round table meeting with Fife City Council
– Round table meeting with Dumbartonshire City Council
– Round table meeting with Edinburgh City Council
– Round table meeting with a large housing association
– Individual travelling to Copenhagen (departing in the afternoon on the 9th of May)
Price for travelling will depend on time of booking, but is approx. DKK 1.300.- incl. taxes.
Pre-booking of hotel will be arranged (depending on the final logistic schedule, we aim for staying on one hotel for the entire visit). The price level is approx. GBP 100 per night.
The Trade Council of Denmark has committed to co-finance the event, whereas the price for participation will be DKK 13.500.- per company, based on 8 participants. This price includes all shared costs of the project, local transport/transfer and buffet lunches. Only individual costs such as travel, accommodation and optional dinners are not included.
