China is leading the race for renewable energy domination. With an annual $100 billion investment in domestic renewables, China is investing more than the US and Europe combined. Yet, China is not merely the world’s largest energy market, but is also positioned to be the pioneering country in the field of innovative energy solutions.
In the period 2015-2021, China will install 40% of all new electricity generating capacity worldwide and aims to invest more than $360 billion in renewable power generation by 2020. Furthermore the “five-year plan” (NDRG) aims at raising total wind generation capacity from 129 gigawatts (2015) to more than 201 gigawatts in 2020.
However, the focus is not only on converting to more sustainable energy sources, but also on building more efficient heating systems. China aims at a significant expansion of district heating systems in the years to come.
PARTNERSHIP The Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate has long-standing collaboration agreements and concrete collaboration projects with key Chinese energy authorities. The partnership also extends to research and business. Chinese authorities, investors and industry acknowledge Danish expertise in the field of energy. China’s accelerating green transition and acknowledgement of Danish competencies open up significant market opportunities for Danish firms.
WHY JOIN? The Danish Energy Business Delegation is an evident opportunity to engage, deepen and broaden your network among Chinese energy stakeholders and reap the benefits of the official partnership in energy between our countries.
