Energy efficient cities – map

Frontline Energy & Environmental has mapped the league table from the recent report carried out by the American Council for Energy Efficiency examining the most energy efficient cities worldwide.

Their infographic explores some of the key elements and activities of the top performing cities worldwide.Reykjavik in Iceland, Vancouver in Canada and Copenhagen in Denmark were at the top of the league table. One thing they all have in common is ambitious targets – with Reykjavik aiming to be fossil free by 2050, Vancouver vying to become the world’s greenest city by 2020 and Copenhagen pushing to be the worlds first carbon neutral capital by 2025.We recently took a look at how local governments can equip themselves with the tools to drive energy efficiency. Tools such as these are applicable to both local governments and businesses alike and are part of the growing adoption of energy efficiency policies. See the map here
