District heating the victim in climate dispute

Once again DBDH is being quoted in one of the national newspapers as Lars Hummelmose says that the European Parliament´s rejection of Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard´s attempt to save the European CO2 Emission Trading System (ETS) will make it more difficult to carry out projects where natural gas is converted to district heating.


In today´s issue of Jyllandsposten critics claim that the leading role of district heating is threatened by old rules and regulations as well as low gas and CO2 prices, and that the Danish government´s goal of letting district heating take the lead in the green conversion is hanging by a thread.
