A DBDH conference on energy efficiency and energy savings headed by the Danish Ambassador Tom Risdahl Jensen was attracting more than 120 guests from the district heating sector of Murmansk Oblast on 10 June 2013.

“Energy efficiency issues are a focus of Murmansk region, we have the ambitious task of reducing energy intensity of the production by 40% by the year 2020 in comparison with the year 2007. Another task is to provide our population with district heating at affordable prices, and the Danish experience in these areas could help us to achieve those two targets” Remarked Deputy Governor Mr. Sergey Gubich at the opening of the conference. Mr. Tom Risdahl Jensen mentioned the fact that Danish experience in district heating dates back more than 100 years, although it was the energy crisis in Denmark in the 70’es that made district heating expand considerably and made Denmark a frontrunner in this field.

Nine DBDH member companies, Danfoss, Kamstrup, SPX, Grundfos, Dall Energy, Desmi, Logstor, Era-Power and EKF, made presentations of their knowhow and technologies at the conference, and during lunch and coffee breaks the companies had the opportunity for more bilateral talks with the district heating sector of Murmansk to discuss future cooperation and possibilities.
