District heating covers 13 percent of the Germans’ heating needs. By 2020, it is Germany’s goal to make that number 25 percent. In the pursuit of growth, Danfoss has therefore set its sights on the German market, writes Danish newspaper Berlingske.
“Previously, we saw ourselves as suppliers of valves and other components for district heating Companies, but today we see ourselves as someone that develops district heating market”, says Lars Tveen to Berlingske. He has just been appointed Director of Danfoss Heating, which will be one of Danfoss’ four independent segments.
Danfoss right now Works for the company to expand and upgrade the heating network in the city of Karlsruhe. The goal is that once the city has a modern district heating infrastructure, it will serve as an example for the rest of the German market.
