The district heating conference 2019 will address the most relevant topics in the district heating sector with renowned speakers from industry and research discussing  Digitization, decarbonization and decentralization in district heating networks

At the second Danfoss District Heating Conference (18 to 19 September 2019 in Offenbach am Main), experts from research and industry will focus their presentations and debates on topics around Digitization, Decarbonization and Decentralization in the District Heating Sector. The conference is, therefore, of special interest for district heating suppliers and public or private utility companies. Networking and exchange between participants and speakers will play an essential role in the conference agenda.

Danfoss, one of the world market leaders in the field of heating technology, will address current trends and concepts in the district energy sector during its second district heating conference (18th to 19th of September 2019 in Offenbach am Main). Under the motto “District Heating in transition”, experts from research and industry will speak and debate around the three “D’s” that are currently determining the narrative in the District Heating sector: Digitization, Decarbonization and Decentralization. The conference will dive into how these three central topics are interwoven in the current solution landscape: Connectivity in District Heating Networks 4.0 (Digitization) will be discussed in the context of the consequences of the current coal phase-out processes (Decarbonization) and newest concepts for the integration of local renewable energy sources (Decentralization). In addition, the European framework conditions influencing the development of District Heating so as innovative planning concepts for modern district energy networks will be presented, analyzed and discussed. The conference, which is primarily aimed at utilities, thus paints a holistic picture of the current challenges and solutions in the District Heating segment.

Along with renowned experts such as Dr. Dietrich Schmidt, Head of the Power-Heat Systems department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (Fraunhofer IEE), and Britta Kleinertz, Project Engineer and Research Associate at the Forschungsgesellschaft für Energiewirtschaft mbH, leading Danfoss District Heating professionals are part of the speaker list – including Anton Koller, Danfoss Board Member and Responsible for the Danfoss District Heating Division, and Jan Eric Thorsen, Director of the Danfoss Heating Application Centre -. Part of the agenda will take place in a historic venue to provide a dedicated framework for exchange and networking within speakers and participants. Board and lodging are arranged by the conference organizers for the participants.
