The Danfoss Group has announced the acquisition of Prosa, an agile software company based in Venice, Italy with expertise in IoT, smart equipment and user interface design. With this step, Danfoss positions itself further to deliver new, innovative and on-edge connected products and services.
Prosa provides a complete telemetry solution, known as VeBox, to the food and beverage market. VeBox is a cloud-based infrastructure consisting of telemetry devices for installation in various types of food and beverage equipment (i.g. fountain machines, glass door merchandisers, freezer cabinets) providing end-to-end connectivity. Coupled with enterprise management software, VeBox allows for remote monitoring, diagnostics, marketing and sales analysis capabilities. The VeBox solution adds an attractive complementary layer to the Danfoss portfolio of electronic refrigeration controllers providing a compelling proposition for customers seeking total connected solutions in food service applications.
“Prosa has strong expertise in user-experience design and speed in bringing new solutions to market. In the near term, the strong competencies gained through Prosa will help us expand our offering through the development of connectivity solutions for applications along the cold chain. In the long run, I expect to see many more connected cooling solutions resulting from this acquisition,” says Jürgen Fischer, President of Danfoss Cooling Segment.
Prosa was founded in 1998 by Alberto Pravato and Alessandro Roncato in Venice, Italy, the Prosa team currently consists of 16 full-time employees.
