DBDH was this week the co-organizer of a 3-day program in Belgium. Day 1 in Brussels, the “Heat in the City” conference had 170 participants and it was co-organized by DBDH, Warmtenetwerk Vlaandern, edora and The Trade Council of Denmark. Day 2 in Antwerp, the “District Heating Workshop” had almost 200 participants and was co-organized by DBDH, ISVAG, EnergyVille, Warmtenetwerk Vlaanderen, Interafval (VVSG) and the Province of Antwerp. The number of participants clearly indicates that district energy is gaining momentum in Belgium and especially in Flanders. Day 3, consisted of site visits to the newly constructed Nieuw Zuid heat network and to the network under construction from ISVAG to the Terbekehof industrial estate. This and other planned district heating networks show that district heating is under way in Antwerp and in other towns in Belgium.
So, keep an eye on the development in Belgium – it is gaining momentum.
