Aalborg Forsyning and Seas-NVE in new collaboration

Date: 21 January 2020

Aalborg Forsyning has just granted the first 10,000 households north of the fjord, access to monitor district heating consumption using the app Watts. And soon, the next 18,000 households will be switched, so that by 2020, all of the supply’s 40,000 households will be able to use the app.

With the new collaboration, amongst other things, it will be possible for Aalborg Forsyning’s many households to monitor whether their district heating is being used as it should – if the consumption suddenly changes significantly, the app sends a number of warnings so the customer can take action and therefore avoid unexpected charges.

Watts has many features that offer really good benefits. For example, the app’s budget-feature can alert customers to overuse before it actually takes place. At the same time, the app helps take a major step forward in customer communication, which is an important element in their work on green conversion, says Jesper Møller Larsen, supply manager at Aalborg Forsyning.

Originally, Seas-NVE developed Watts for its electric and natural gas customers, but now the app is also meeting interest from several companies that do not have customers at Seas-NVE. In addition to Aalborg Forsyning, Helsingør, Kalundborg and Frederiksberg Forsyning have announced that they want to make use of the app – and more utilities are on the way.
