DBDH and CLEAN form alliance to strengthen the export of green technology

Date: 2 March 2015

DBDH and cleantech cluster CLEAN join forces to strengthen their system export area. Together, DBDH and CLEAN will be able to provide turnkey projects and bid for contracts on system deliveries.

The Danish district heating industry has a position as a world leader in the field, and the new collaboration means that the companies are stronger when it comes to have resources allocated for further work with turnkey projects.

Reduction of energy costs and CO2 emissions is a top priority for many countries of the world. UN finds in a report from 2014 that an improvement of heating systems is one of the most effective weapons in the fight against climate change. According to the UN, 70 percent of all energy is used in cities, half of which is used for heating and cooling. The Danish district heating systems are in a world class league, and therefore many countries look to Denmark in order to find solutions to the inefficient heating systems.

The export of components and consultancy for foreign district heating plants has increased by 36 percent since 2007, reaching 5 billion DKK in 2013. And the outlook for the future is promising.

According to the latest report from Fjernvarmeindustrien, strong growth in exports is expected, thus in 2020 the number will exceed top 10 billion DKK.
